Founded in 1963, the ranch covers 700 acres located in North Kohala.  They started the first Registered Red Angus herd in the state and have an annual bull sale in May.  Kehena Ranch markets its calf crop on the mainland going all the way through the feedlot.  In 1996 the ranch was awarded the Mauna Kea Soil and Water Conservation District Outstanding Cooperator of the Year.  Mrs. King managed the ranch until 1993 when she hired the first Ranch Manager and retired at the age of 80.
